General Care Rules
- Always handle your fursuit with clean hands.
- Avoid eating or drinking (especially sugary or oily foods) while wearing the suit.
- Never place your fursuit near open flames, heaters, or direct heat sources.
- Keep sharp objects, pets, and rough surfaces away from the fur.
After-Wear Care (Very Important!)
After every wear:
- Let your fursuit air out completely in a cool, well-ventilated area.
- Open the head, mouth, and any ventilation points to release moisture.
- Use a fursuit-safe disinfectant spray (light mist only) inside the head and bodysuit.
- Make sure the suit is fully dry before storing.
Never store a damp fursuit—this can cause odor, bacteria, and damage.
Cleaning the Fursuit Head
- Do NOT machine wash the head.
- Spot clean only using:
- Cold water
- Mild detergent or fabric-safe soap
- Gently scrub dirty areas with a soft cloth or sponge.
- Rinse lightly and avoid soaking the head.
- Pat dry with a towel, then air dry.
Do not use:
- Hot water
- Bleach
- Alcohol
- Hair dryers or heat guns
Cleaning the Bodysuit, Paws & TailMachine Washing (if approved for your suit)
- Turn the suit inside out.
- Use cold water only.
- Gentle or delicate cycle.
- Mild detergent.
Hand Washing (recommended)
- Soak in cold water with mild detergent.
- Gently agitate—do not wring or twist.
- Rinse thoroughly with cold water.
Drying
- Air dry only.
- Hang or lay flat in a well-ventilated space.
- Brush the fur once fully dry.
Never tumble dry.
Brushing & Fur Maintenance
- Use a slicker brush or wide-tooth comb.
- Brush gently in the direction of the fur.
- Detangle slowly—never pull or rip knots.
- For matted areas, lightly mist with water and brush carefully.
Regular brushing keeps the
suit fluffy and fresh-looking.
Heat & Wear Safety
- Take regular breaks while wearing your fursuit.
- Stay hydrated.
- Do not wear your suit for long periods in extreme heat.
- If you feel dizzy or overheated, remove the head immediately.
